Dr. Halefom Gezaei Abera is a visionary educational leader whose career began as a school teacher and principal, a role that earned him national recognition from the Ethiopian Prime Minister. He served his people for over 19 years in governement and international NGOs where his over 14 years experience is in Imagine1day international NGO as program expert, M & E expert, coordinator, manager, and director of multiple multi-sectoral programs and projects in Ethiopia. Dr. Halefom holds a PhD in Educational Policy and Strategic Management, an MA in Community Development and Leadership, a BA in Management, and a BSc in Mathematics, and is also a certified trainer in leadership and education. Known for his lifelong commitment to learning, partnership-building, and community service, he has founded multiple NGOs, cooperatives, and microfinance institutions, while actively serving as a board member and volunteer. A prolific author of five books on leadership and education and a devoted father of three, Dr. Halefom continues to serve individuals, families, communities and institutions.
Mr. Haftu Hagos
Haftu Hagos Sibhat is a technology and education professional with over 14
years of experience in academia, ICT consulting, and nonprofit leadership.
He holds a BSc in Computer Science and Engineering from MIT and an
MTech in Computer Engineering from Defence University. Haftu has served
as Department Head and Senior Lecturer at MIT, introduced digital systems
like Moodle and Koha, and has been working as National MEAL Manager
at Imagine 1 Day, where he launched a national Knowledge Management
System. He is the founder and CEO of Hafinan General Trading and leading projects in digital
education, school connectivity, data center development, and digital marketing training.

Dr. Abay Halefom is an accomplished academic and development professional. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Management from Arba Minch University and began his career in the public sector as a Civil Service Reform Expert. He then pursued and completed a Master’s degree in Urban Management with great distinction, which led to his appointment as Core Process Owner for Urban Land Development and Management. Transitioning into academia, Abay served as a lecturer at Wollega University and later at Adigrat University. He holds his PhD in Environment and Development from Addis Ababa University. In addition to his academic roles, he has held key positions with Imagine 1 Day International Organization, serving as Tigray Regional MEAL Manager and subsequently as National Protection Manager for Northern Ethiopia, covering the Tigray, Amhara, and Afar regions. His career reflects a strong blend of academic achievement, public service, and leadership in international development.

Dr. Hadis Tadele Desta is an Educator, Ecologist and Conservation biologist with over 15 years of experience in Education, Research and Community services in the areas of biodiversity conservation and project management. He holds a PhD and MSc in Ecology, an MSc in Project Management and HDP in education. Dr. Hadis currently serves as an Assistant Professor and has served as Partnership and External Research Fund Coordinator at Madda Walabu University, where he has successfully led research projects, secured international partnerships and funding, and mentored more than 10 graduate students. He is also a research for International Crane Foundation engaged in research and designing community-based conservation projects of wetland conservation. His work spans project proposal development, project management and capacity building, with a proven track record in fostering collaboration among local communities, government agencies, and international partners. Dr. Hadis is an active professional member of several organizations, including the IUCN Commission member.

Yisfalem Ayele is a seasoned Public Health and WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) Specialist with over 15 years’ experience in both the public and non-governmental sectors in Ethiopia. Since 2008, he has been dedicated to advancing public health initiatives, particularly in the WASH sector. With a Master of Public Health from Mekelle University and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health from the University of Gondar, he has a solid academic foundation to address complex health issues.System.
